Virtual Secure Web Gateway

Hi there:

Is it possible through symantec web gateway appliance to block Web base user application such as streaming, torrent, download manager etc. I use Beta virtual version 5.0, which we only can configure proxy mode, and we are not able to configure application control in proxy mode.... can we mange to blcok application in physical appliance (right now version is 4.5).

I reconfigure Symantec Web Gateway, right now I have face following issue:

- I am not able to block streaming video.

I also lock a support case but did not find any response yet. kindly some one guide me how to fix this issue.

Funny Answer for Symantec Technical Support:

Symantec Techniacl support engineer ask that youtube use advance protocol for streaming (most of the streaming site use same protocols), and symantec unable to block that streaming.....

Below are the Technical engineer words

"Following up your concern from certain sources as www.youtube.com, the protocol involved (RTMP).

Unfortunately, we do not cover this protocol as yet."

Therefore although symantec claim that Web gateway block streaming but such streaming which defined by symantec own.............very funny..................................................
