Virtual Secure Web Gateway

Hi,

I am using Symantec Web Gateway 8450 and version no. is 5.1.0.39.

- I tried to create policy VLAN based on VLAN but didn't worked, what are the steps to configure policy based on VLAN.

- I have blocked job search category and just wanted to open monster.com for my organization, so i added 'monster.com' under content filter exceptions and allowed it but it is still getting blocked.

I have another appliance with 5.0 version when i tried to upgrade the database it upgraded successfully but when i tried to upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1 my appliance didn't upgraded even after rebooting the appliance.

What mode are you using the Symantec Web Gateway in?

For the VLAN question, put the subnet for that VLAN as the Affected Work Group of the policy.

When you look at the Custom Report, why was the attempt to load monster.com blocked? Is it being caught under the correct policy?

You should open a support case for the faile dupgrade so we can gather logs to determine why the upgrade failed.

- SWG is in Proxy blocking mode.

- Nothing is shown in reports, it's all empty. What will be the reason behind the empty reports though all the websites are getting blocked, i have integrated with LDAP and DCI agent is installed in DC

- Can we block videos and pictures on Facebook.

- Also when created policy based on OU and department all the websites are getting open and when created based on user policy is working fine. Sometimes policy is working fine with OU and department and sometimes it's not working.
