Symantec Web Gateway : Appliance or VM ?

Hi,
We currently use SWG in an appliance. Are there any benefits to migrate to the VM version of SWG ?

The Virtual Edition can handle fewer users than an applaince, it also has no inline bypass mode. The vmhost will require 2-3 phsyical nics for the SWG (depending on the mode used).
The main benefit is cost savings of not purchasing a physical applaince.
The Virtual Edition can also be used as a Central Intelligence Unit for managing multiple SWG systems (virtual and phsyicial).
