    symantec web gateway report shows clients ip address only . but i want to see their host name. help me on that

    Hey,

    have you checked in

    "Administration - Configuration - Reports" the DNS and WINS checkbox to help identifying client hostnames?

    Additional for some hostnames that cant be resolved have you seen the "Administration - Configuration - Servers" that allows you to create alias records for systems in the reports?

    thanks for  the reply

    both DNS and WINS check boxes are checked. but still many client names could not be resolved.

    on your second idea i think it is used only for servers and in case of static ip addresses which in my case is not.

    do u have other idea?~

    Do those clients have ptr (reverse lookup) records in your DNS server?

    Yes, clients have reverse lookup in DNS server.
