Symantec Web Gateway policy order, request handling

  • 1.  Symantec Web Gateway policy order, request handling

    Hi Everyone,

    I would like to know the policy order in Symantec web gateway policies.

    How will the SWG handling the request from client, I want to have URL filtering, Authentication, DLP rules created in the policies.

    When the user request for an URL how does SWG handle that: -

     

    1. will it check the user credentials and authentication policy then

    2. will it check the URL filtering policies then

    3. will it send the content to DLP.

     

    I would like to have clear understanding on this could some one help here pls...

    Web Gateway policies are processed from the top down, so anything you want done first, such as authentication, needs to be at the top. There are no policies for DLP, it is an on or off feature with no settings.
