  • 1.  Symantec WebGateway access does not show on logs

    Hi all

    Just wanted to ask you if you ever faced a situation with the webgateway were the access for a particular website is not logged ( does not appears on custom reports). When some users try to access this site the page shows unformated and like text.

    The categorie is allowed on the policy, some users access it perfecty and some others dont!!

     

    Any idea why this might be happening?

    You would need to have the category for the website set to Monitor, and not Allow. Also, if the domain being accessed is on the whitelist there will be no logging for it.

    You should look closely at the Custom Report for the exact time and IP the website is accessed from. Often this happens when the domain where the website hosts most of their CSS is blocked. For example, LinkedIn.com hosts most of their web resources on media.licdn.com.
