I recently downloaded the trial of BESR 8.5.2 and for some reason I cannot install the Symantec_Backup_Exec_System_Recovery_8.5.3_Patch_321278 update. I even tried downloading via LiveUpdate.

I get the following error.

"The upgrade cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade"

Please advise,
Niles

Your best bet is probably to

Your best bet is probably to uninstall BESR completely and reinstall with the 8.5.3 installer. To ensure that you have a system that is comletely clean of any trace of BESR, run the uninstall batch file, located here; http://support.veritas.com/docs/309169 If you have had any previous versions of BESR, it may be a good idea to locate the uninstall batch files for those as well.

8.5.3 321278

Hello,

the Symantec_Backup_Exec_System_Recovery_8.5.3_Patch_321278.exe content a uniq .msp file, a Microsoft Installer Patch File.

Is there a way to create a EasyInstaller of the BESR client v8.5.3.31483 patched at level 8.5.3.321278 ?

Kind Regards
Thierry
