  • 1.  Symantic Endpoint Protection Not Working

    Hi, I have Symantec Enpoint Protection version 11.0.6000.550 & I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit (6.1., Build 7600) and everytime I try and run a virus scan it tells me the program has stopped working and shuts it down. This is a Samsung laptop.  Can someone tech saavy please help a noob out?

    Repair the SEP install from add remove programs

    Hi

    Try removing the SEP using Cleanwipe and then reinstall SEP.

    This may Solve your Problem.

    I would suggest to reinstall SEP with the newest existing version (11.0.7101.1056). The one you are using was available for short time only. Due to some bugs the next one (11.0.6005.562) was immediately released.

    Hi,

    Is/was there any other Antivirus protection installed than the SEP Client ? (Norton,...)

    If Norton, you might want to try the removal tool (https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?docid=20080710133834EN&lg=english&ct=united+states&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home&entsrc=redirect_pubweb) and then check how the virus scan behave.

     

    If you have the following error:

    "Symantec AntiVirus has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

    Or, you might try to repair, or simply reinstall SEP.

    Hello,

    Symantic Endpoint Protection Not Working check wether service is running are not go to run and type service.msc check symantec endpoint protection is start are stop if it stops right click and start the service if not go to control paneal and repair the symantec endpoint protection once repair is completed restart the machine and check it once  after this also if you facing problem uninstall the symantec completely and reinstall the symantec again.

     

    Go to services.msc and start the service for symantec endpoint protection and you can scane your machine

    if not go to control paneal and repair it once and restart the machine and try.

    Repair the sep client from Add/Remove program & restart the machine.
