    Hi

my customer is trying to implement this solution for endpoint thru installing it directly on the devices(without management server)

he say that it is not possible?

to my knowledge, he can install directly on each laptop :  symantec pgp desktop ,

and go to messeging tab and configure it from there,

    is it possible?

i read also from here that is possible,

but when he is trying to insert the license he get error message.

this is what the end customer wrote:

I had few correspondences with Symantec technical & customer support during the weekend.

Apparently there is no problem with the license itself.

The issue that we are facing is that the license is for Encryption Server and not clients.

This license should be deployed on an exchange server with supports of 7 users, our requirement was to purchase 7 clients (desktop) licenses which can be deployed independently.

Please advise what is the next step – can we alter the license to accommodate our needs?

    Hi,

(PLEASE MIND: don't attach your orignal license key on a forum please)

As per your error message I see that there is a problem wih Standalone Symantec Encryption Desktop License during process of installation.

Either the license is currently in use so you will not be able to use it again or the license key is wrong or the license key is for Symantec Encryption Management Server.

So if you stated that the license is for the SEMS server and not the clients you will not be able to use it on Standalone SED installation. If you are interested in Standalone SED client installation license key you need to contact our Sales Department to purchase the right product.

    http://www.symantec.com/contact_sales.jsp

They can tell you more what they can do for you.

You can also talk to ou Customer Care on below link:

Once you have got a correct license key for Standalone Clients with PGP Messaging feature on it you can use it and configure your messaging policy.
