The question is simple. How? I know from two YouTube videos that Symantec DLP can cooperate with Oracle IRM. I am unable to find some technical documentation to make this work. I already have Symantec DLP 10.5 up-and-running and Oracle IRM 11g up-and-running. How can I make them cooperate? Thanks a lot!
Really, no one know this? :(
What's the scenario you use the Oracle IRM and DLP in your environment?
The Oracle IRM has some funtions such as encrpt and data monitoring, right? So, what do you want to do with the Oracle IRM and DLP?
Something like:
Network Discover and Protect found on a network share some confidential files. SymcDLP will contact Oracle IRM and tell that those files need to be sealed, but they should remain in the same location.
Like in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVXrzpo8jxs (after minute 3)
Thanks!
PS: They even have the demo virtual machine, so you must know something about this!
Another link, but still no technical detail :( : http://blogs.oracle.com/irm/2009/10/oracle_irm_and_symantec_dlp_ve.html
That seems pretty nifty...maybe you should post an idea about Symantec and Oracle formalizing this stuff so it would be included in future documentation and stuff =]
Ohh...I just checked the second link...all they have is a contact us link...lame. Maybe the documentation is already in the works then?
(hopefully)
I don't know if the documentation is work in progress or not, but there is too many information on the web regarding this and no technical detail. I will talk with someone at Oracle and listen for their opinion.
Good idea, please post whatever information you get back in this thread if possible =D
From Oracle no info until now, I don't understand this. Symantec DLP can integrate with Oracle IRM, Oracle has this information on their website, they even have Symantec demo machines but nobody knows nothing?
Something is wrong here :(.
Hmm...I guess you just have to be one of those people who knows both products inside out and just do it yourself for now. Maybe in the future, they'll release something useful...
