SymHelp still "Checking for update" status

Hi Everyone,

Does any body encounter the SymHelp will just "Checking for update" status only this is when I'm using a proxy but if no proxy where used I was able to click the EULA. The terminal is allowed to access the internet on both settings (thru direct connection and thru proxy connection). Attached is a screenshot.

In comparison with SST it will just say "Unable to check new version" when internet is not available and can use it.

If you are using proxy you are not able to client EULA.

Check symantec site port are opened in your firewall

Using Symantec Help (SymHelp) Tool, how do we Collect the Suspicious Files and Submit the same to Symantec Security Response Team.

is the bandwidth the issue?

can you check netstat if the traffic is extablished?

You can run the Symhelp and skip the check for updates - just execute it from command prompt like this:

"Symhelp.exe -noup"

You can use latest symhelp and click on cancel update check.
