symsilent.exe

Hello,

we have bought 70 PC where Norton Internet Security is pre-installed. After uninstalling it seems to leave symsilent.exe on the system running. The Norton Removal Tool didnt get symsilent.exe off too. Maybe it belongs to another pre-installed product but there is no branded with symantec.

Where did this come from and how can i uninstall it?

The file stays in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SymSilent\SymSilent.exe"

(Sorry for posting here, but in which Community part should this posted, there is none for it.)

I would suggest you to get cleanwipe tool and run it before installing SEP

 

Best way is to create a web case, Support engineer will send you the login credentials to download the utility.

Hello,

This is executable file.

If you find it running in Task Manager as the process symsilent.exe, then try killing the Process and then try uninstalling the SymSilent from Add/ Remove Programs.

If this Application is not listed in Add/Remove Programs, deleting the software manually from "C:\Program Files (x86)\SymSilent\SymSilent.exe"
