I have two servers with BESR 8.57 and BE12.5 installed that are doing the same thing. Every 12 minutes, 3 services start: Volume Shado Copy, Symsnap VSS and Shadow Copy Provider. Then about 3 minutes later the Volume Shadow Copy service stops. The after about 1 to 3 minutes, the Symsnap VSS and Shadow Copy provider services stop. After another 4 minutes, the whole process starts over again. This happens all day long even when neither product is running a backup. I have shadow copies set up to run a the default times of 7:00AM and 12:00noon. In addition to filling up my logs, I am concerned that this is slowing down the servers. I am only getting about 1600 MB/Min backing up to a new LTO-5 tape drive in the one server.
