    Hi folks
I am trying to shut down all services / processes not required to run all the time on my Windows 7 laptop.
I use Ghost 15 once in 2 weeks. I turned Northon Ghost service to 'manual'. Can I do the same with SymSnapService? Is it ok to turn it on before backup run?

     Hi,

The SymSnapService is the process in charge of taking a snapshot of your volume while in use. By default it is set to manual and is started but you don't need to have it running if you do not take any backup. When you wish to take a backup then just start the Ghost Service. The latter will manually start the Sym Snap service when it needs it. Just make sure it is not disabled.

    Cheers
