Synthetic Backup with RALUS

"Helvetica","sans-serif";color:#333333">I'm trying to find out if synthetic backups of Linux file systems (specifically OES2) are officially supported by Backup Exec 2012 . This isn’t noted in any Symantec compatibility list.

color:#333333">They work in my test environment with CentOS and this was fully supported in older versions of Backup Exec as per the following tech note:

Yes, synthetic backups can be performed on supported (listed in SCL) RALUS systems -

OES2 is not supported for synthetic backups as its a netware file system.

Novell Open Enterprise Server v2 is listed on the Backup Exec 2012 SCL as compatible with the RALUS. Can you please confirm if it is compatible or incompatible with Synthetic backups?

If the OES is running a linux kernel & not a Netware kernel, then it should work with synthetic backups.
