synthetic backups and drive pool

I am having a problem setting up synthetic backups. Not allowing me to use a B2D drive pool - insists on a B2D folder. why? if i select backup -to disk folder it works.I am using HP Modular Smart Array. The sole purpose of buying these disks was to use them in the drive pool when doing a synthetic backup and now that purpose is not served. Please help.

Hello,

In Synthetic backups, the incremental backups are only suported on a B2D. Refer to the following technote that explains the requirements and procedure for synthetic backup. Ensure that you are meeeting those requirements in order to have successful Synthetic backups:
