I'm getting asystem error 1231 has occurred when trying to boot to Ghost via network boot or usb boot. Even after trying net use s: \\server\directory

I am trying to upload an image to the server when this occurs. I have an HP Elitebook 840, i7, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD.

As you have told us nothing about your server, or your ghost version, or your operating system, all I can suggest is this:

Our server is WIndows 2003 SP2, Ghost version 11.5.1, and Running Windows 7 64-bit for all of our machines.

It seems to boot to Ghost fine via network. However, it doesn't map the "S drive" when is mapped to our images. If I try to use net use s: \\server\directory it will give me "System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found."

However, I know that it exists and is the right location.

Are you booting to DOS or WinPE?  Are you getting an IP address or using a static address? Instead of using the server name, try using the server IP address in the net use command, in case DNS is not working.

Using the IP address in the net use command did not work. We are booting to WinPE.

Try turning off the WinPE firewall.

Are you getting an IP address?  From WinPE command line, type IPCONFIG and check whether your NIC has a valid IP address and not a default of 127.0.0.0 which means that the network driver is not present or not loading.  Did you add the correct NIC driver to WinPE? Did you remember to use Vista 32 bit drivers as WinPE in Ghost uses the Vista kernel.

It is pulling an IP Address and even connects to the correct IP address of the Ghost server when doing a network boot. I have loaded the correct drivers (Vista - 32bit) to Ghost Boot Wizard. Still no luck.

What protocols are enabled on the server? Try turning on netbios protocol if it is off.
