    Hello.

    Every Sunday i have the following system event notification

     

    Event type: An unexpected exception has occurred
    Event description: There is error(s) when parsing the file received from client.
    Error message: There is an error when parsing the file. Please check the file format. 
    Error code: There is an error when parsing the file. Please check the file format.

    Is the message from SEPM? if yes which version you are using ?

    Just check if there are any .err files getting created under the following location

    Program Files\Symantec EndPoint Protection\data\inbox\log\tex\AVMan

    It is form SEPM i have 12.1.3 version.In this folder  Program Files\Symantec EndPoint ProtectionManager\data\inbox\log\tex\AVMan has an error file 03E2E4050A0A013300BF3073FF0A9102.tmp.dat.Any idea why i get this error???

    These are the log files which are sent by clients. SEPM processes from here.

    You can delete that .tmp.dat file and restart SEPM service, check again.
