.....apart of the Proactive Threat Protection component, i.e. just like Application and Device control -  it will not work on server operation systems ?

I'm currently running step1: Log unapproved applications only on a group that has a workstation in and a server - but am getting no logging back from the server.

I have no approved applications set and the server does not have the firewall components installed either.

In server OS Truscan which is one of the component of  Proactive Threat Protection will not work
All other components of SEP will work with server os if it is 32 bit.

not according to the two below articles - PTP is not compatable with Server OS.....

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2007091713544248

--- Ignore the reference to 64 bit OS not working with PTP that's BS. Non server 64 bit OS's work fine with PTP. (see foum article https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/liveupdate-error-windows-7-64-bit-solved )
