Hi

I have a organization in which we have approximately 16000 clients communincating and which have separate SEPM server on different locations.

Now, we want to manage all clients in centralised environment, i.e we would configure a one SEPM to which all 16000 clients would be communicating.

Here my questions are as follows:

1. System Requirements for Centralised architecture for managing 16000 clients ?

2. How to communicate the the clients from diiferent locations to the centralised SEPM server ?

3. How to configure Failover server in case the centralise server goes down for any reason ?

Thanks for understanding.

Regards

Sameer

See these KB articles for requirements and setting up failover. In order for all clients to communicate, you need to make sure port 8014 is open

Here my questions are as follows:

1. System Requirements for Centralised architecture for managing 16000 clients ?

SEPM with SQL database , you need to have replication setup and have it centralized arch.

2. How to communicate the the clients from diiferent locations to the centralised SEPM server ?

once replication is configured, set an MSL to move clients to respective servers.

3. How to configure Failover server in case the centralise server goes down for any reason ?

configure the replictaion to centralized server or add one more SEPM to the centralized server.

Hi,

2. How to communicate the the clients from diiferent locations to the centralised SEPM server ?

Use pull mode with heartbeat interval of 4 hours with randomization of 2 hour.

You can use GUP in eace location for content (definition) distribution.which saves bandwidth utilisation.

3. How to configure Failover server in case the centralise server goes down for any reason ?

For failover you have to install 2 sites.and using MSL you can configure primary and secondary SEPM.

For mor information.

Hi SameerU,

1. System Requirements for Centralised architecture for managing 16000 clients ?

--> You can always check this page if want to find out release notes & System requirements.

Release Notes and System Requirements for all versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Network Access Control

http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?pag...

2. How to communicate the the clients from diiferent locations to the centralised SEPM server ?

--> You will have to configure GUP if SEPM is not present on remote sites.

If SEPM is installed at remote sites then need to configure Management Server List (MSL) to configure Failover & Loadbalancing
