System state and drives not in selection list with remote agent

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Ok I have been having a heck of a time trying to get this to work and I have been banging on it for a while.  hopefully the title gets the right people looking as figuring out what to search for this issue has been troublesome at best.  Allow me to explain the issue with a bit more depth.

Software Configuration: Backup Exec 2010 R3 backing up to a tape library

Servers: Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter, all at same patch level and 2 with SQL 2008 R2 on a 2008 domain

Storage: Dell EqualLogic P4000E

Installed agents: Remote Agent for Windows x6 and Remote Agent for SQL x2

Issue:  I have the Backup Exec software installed on one of the non-servers and have remote agents installed on all remaining servers.  The backups excluding SQL work just fine.  However, on the SQL server, even with the remote agent installed, in the selection list the only devices that appear are the shared drives, no system state, no root drives.  I have absolutely no idea what is causing this and I have tried every solution I have found.  Redoing VSS many times, reinstalling the agent and the core software many times, LiveUpdated fully.  Windows is fully patched, downloaded hot fixes, checked for corrupt profiles and registry entries, ran the BE diagnostics utilities (100% pass) tried different user accounts for the BE services and server credentials.  UAC is turned off, the firewall is turned off, the antivirus has been uninstalled just to be sure.  And to be very clear, NOTHING shows up, this is not an issue of a SQL remote agent not working, I dont see anything that is selectable on the remote server that isnt a network share.  I can try just about any suggestion as long as it isnt 'just reinstall the OS'  The server itself works flawlessly and is in 24/7 production.  The backup server I can do anything I need to, its only purpose are backups.  So please help me, Im desperate here, in order to get working backups of this server I have to use windows backup to a SAN then pull the backup from there.  If more information is needed please ask, I will provide what I can.

Ugh, that was it, thank you very, very much, If only that article had come up on the 50 google searches I tried with various terms lol.  Well I figured it was going to be something simple.  You sir are my hero.

Generally, you would have  better luck searching the BE database than using Google

For example "cannot select remote system state" brings up several pages of hits

The Technote referenced above is #8 on the first page
