Please clarify - do you have Netbackup BMR functionality in mind (mksysb in AIX)  ?.

Or are you looking for a file directive to backup all files of the AIX host (That will be ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES then)

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

No. I need to know the flow, how netbackup 7.5 do the System State backup for windows client.

What tools has been using for System STate backup, etc.

Use the file directive ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES - it will backup Shadow Copy Components/System State.

Netbackup does not have special tool for backup of Shdow Copy Components it's uses a Windows API to do it (VSS snap). It's the only method supported by Microsoft.

Some info - it's and old tech note but still valid :

and some MS note:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa384649(v=vs.85).aspx

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
