Can Evault be configured to bypass tagged emails? For example, we have defined retention of 10 years for emails, but there a few exceptions were users need certain emails to be kept forever. Is there a way to exclude specific emails from being scanned for retention?

So you can do one of the
So you can do one of the following
1. Restore the email back and archive it under a new folder and choose the infinite retention
2. Create a folder through EVPM called keep forever and have the user move the shortcut and have the archive task update the shortcut location and the retention category
3. You could do similar with EVPM but have them drag and drop the item through Virtual Vault
You could also look at Data Classification Services within EV10, but i don't know if that will retroactively go back and change emails from expiring.

But going forward, i would simply create a retention folder either through EVPM or Managed Folders in Exchange and have the users drag and drop the items there and give it its own retention of forever or some such
if your criteria is based on a MAPI Property...
...we can help you.
We wrote a Rule Based Advanced Archiving Filter, which is able to take different actions (like Drop, SetRetCat,etc.) when archiving. It's fully integrated in the EV Archiving Task for Mailbox as well for Journal Archives.
