This issue has been solved. See solution.

Netbackup 7.1

Master server           Windows 2008 R2          Virtual

Media server            Windows 2008 R2           Physical

I have robot with 2 drives attrached to Media server via the SAN.

My plan is to use the 2 drives for LAN clients AND use the same 2 drives as SAN drives to backup the VM world. This means sharing the drive between LAN and SAN.

Can someone please help me to get this set up working or lead to documents with requirments and steps to do it.

Than k you

If I understand right, you have nothing to do anymore.

Just configure backup policies as normal. File backups go to the media server via LAN, and stored into tapes with tape drives connected to the media server via SAN.
On VM backup, the media sever read VMDK as VMware access host and store it into tapes withits own tape drives if you sepecify this media server as VMware access host.
