Tape eject

Hi Team,

Is there any way to find the list of tape which has ejected from the library. Usually before eject we will make a noe of the tape id. But i forgot to take the list. Please tell me how to find the ejected tapelist.

if you are using Vault to eject the tapes, you can make use of Vault Inventory report to identify the tapes that are ejected through Vault

GUI--->Reports--->Vault Reports-->Inventory

you can do it from the Vltopmenu from the CLI /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/vltopmenu

if you are maunally ejecting the tapes.. you can find the tapes which are not in Robot control by 


you can do if from the CLI

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/goodies/available_media | grep -i none

EMM logs may help you. If it logs 'injected' tapes, it will probably log ejected tapes as well: 

Another log that most definitely contains record of ejected tapes is reqlib on the robot control host.

Media manager debug logs don't exist by default and must be enabled as follows:

Add VERBOSE entry to vm.conf on robot control host (in /usr/openv/volmgr/)
Create debug folder under /usr/openv/volmgr/.
Create reqlib folder under /usr/openv/volmgr/debug.

Restart NBU to enable logs.

I have created the folder as u said. I will monitor the logs and under the folder and will update you the status.

Lots of stuff also gets logged on the admin folder under logs - check that on the server where you performed the eject - it may just have something in it

Otherwise try running an all log entries report from the console from around the time of the eject - that may have something of help
