if you are looking from the Netbackup backup end..

run the scan command form the server which is connected to the library.

it will give you the library make and series along with the Device serail numbers.

if you are looking for more than this.. you need to connect to the libraary using the WEB interface (if libraty supports) or direct libratry console. check the library user guide for  HOWTO

Netbackup scan is a good suggestion. You can also use sg tool package in Linux. The sg tools does not require Netbackup to be running.

# sg_scan -i

/dev/sg0: scsi3 channel=0 id=0 lun=0
    HP        Ultrium 3-SCSI    L6HS [rmb=1 cmdq=0 pqual=0 pdev=0x1]
/dev/sg1: scsi3 channel=0 id=1 lun=0
    HP        Ultrium 3-SCSI    L6HS [rmb=1 cmdq=0 pqual=0 pdev=0x1]
/dev/sg2: scsi3 channel=0 id=2 lun=0
    HP        Ultrium 2-SCSI    K710 [rmb=1 cmdq=0 pqual=0 pdev=0x1]
/dev/sg3: scsi4 channel=0 id=6 lun=0
    STK       L180              0318 [rmb=1 cmdq=0 pqual=0 pdev=0x8]
In this example a StorageTek L180 with firmware 3.18

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.
