Tape replacement reports
We are using a Robotic Tape Library and use bar code labels. We replace the tapes once a week on Tuesday. I have a media set called Tapes which contains all tapes and the overwrite protection period is set to 4 weeks. I also created and attached a vault.
The proces of replacing tapes needs to be as easy as possible. So I want to send them two reporst on every Tuesday morning. The first report must list the tapes which are located in the library and must be removed because they have been overwritten in the last week and cannot be overwritten during the upcomming 4 weeks. This report should contain these fields:
- Media Label (=Bar code)
- Slot number of library in which it is located
- Date when it was used by a job
The second report should list all tapes which are located in the vault and which can be used for the jobs in the upcomming week. If I am not mistaken the standard report "Retrieve Media From Vault" is covering this, right?
My questions are
- What is your best practice for this proces?
- I tried to cover my needs of the first report in a custom report but did not succeed. Can you assist me on how to create such a custom report or is there any standard report which cover my needs on this one?
