Tapes ejecting
Have a win server 2003 sp1, backupexec 10d rev. 5629, devise is a HP storage work dlt vs160 tapes are vs160gb. Problem i'm encountering: tapes eject put in a new one and ejects again with a few beeps won't complete job. Verified tape drivers = veritas, ran a clean tape and tried new tape but ejects the new tape. Had to cancel the job to move on.

Backup- C: AOFO: Initialization failure on: "D:". Advanced Open File Option used: Symantec Volume Snapshot Provider (VSP).
AOFO: Unable to get minimum quiet time for physical volumes. Reduce the activity on these volumes, or wait and run the backup when there is less activity on the volumes.
Backup- D: DataStorage device "HP 1" reported an error on a request to write data to media.
Error reported:
Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
This could be caused by either a dirty tape drive, bad media, or a SCSI problem.
V-79-57344-34028 - Error reading/writing data from/to the media.
Not sure what to do?

also installed sp3 for be10 still ejecting tape.
If it's an HP device,
If it's an HP device, download and run HP Library and Tape Tools to see if it gives you an error. If so, you're looking at repairing/replacing the drive.
Also, have you checked to see if your job isn't maybe spanning 2 tapes, with the second tape needing to be formatted?

I downloaded the HP LLT and
I downloaded the HP LLT and it crashes my server. It isn't spanning 2 tapes these are 160gb tapes and right now what I have selected is only about 100gbs. Giving my tapes are old and this version of BE10 is old but i think i have bigger problems now. I'm going to see about a replacement server instead.
