  • 1.  Task server resolved with NetBios Name

    Posted Aug 08, 2012 02:27 PM

    Hi,

I don't really have an issue more a question. When you open the Agent on the client and goes to settings the NS server is shown with the FQDN (Server.Domain.com:80).

But at the Task register, the taskserver is only shown with the netbios name (Server). In all my other environments the server is also shown with the FQDN.

In SMP 7.0 there was an issue with NEtbios and FQDN but this is fixed since Sp4. This environment is an 7.1 SP2.

    Any Ideas??

    Thanks, best regards

If you connect to the getclienttaskserver.aspx on the SMP from the client and using the clients GUID you should see the list of all of the servers. From there you should see your site server listed as a FQDN. If you do then that is how it is being passed down to the client.

The client will try to connect using the FQDN name and the netbios name for the task server.
