  • 1.  Task was KILLED!!!!!

    Hello my friends

I'm currently trying to capture an image of a clean install of Windows 7 with updates.

    My task is as follows:

    1. Prepare for Image Capture -

    Windows (using sysprep)

OS Type - Windows 7 Ultimate

    Product Key Entered

Credentials to rejoin domain after capture is complete entered.

    Reboot to automation

          2.  Create image

    Image name - WIN7.gho

    Imaging Tool - Ghost

    Image type - Disk Image

Adanced - Capture image to webserver, specified.

          3.   Reboot to Production

But when it gets to the Create image stage it fails and logs a message and says "The task was killed because it took longer than the allowed time. To change the time go to the tasks advanced properties"

I have been to the advanced properties of the task and there is no option to edit time. Can anyone help me, I'm very new to creating jobs and tasks. I am using Altiris 7 by the way, for info.

Does ghost imaging started, were you able to complete even 1 % of imaging?

If no try to ping the http server machine from client machine , with FQDN name

Yeh it starts fine and gets passed 1% ok, I left it going after I left work so not sure how far it did get. I'm unable to boot into WinPE at the moment because it seems to be that temperamental it doesn't always work. I guess i would be able to ping the server as it does run the task just doesn't complete.
