Can I send tasks from a 7.5 Management Point to legacy clients?

What can a legacy client do?  Can it successfully send inventory which will be processed?

    Hi EathenR,

    1. Yes you can redirect legacy agent 7.1 SP2 MP1.1.x version to SMP 7.5 SP1.x version.

Make sure that you have enabled "Legacy Agent Communication", because it will allows registration of legacy 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 agents with SMP 7.5 SP1.x, otherwise, if "LAC" is disabled, then legacy agent registration will be blocked and it will doesn't receive any policy/tasks from SMP 7.5 SP1.x.

    • Where to enable "Legacy Agent Communication" option in SMP Console

    • All legacy blocked registration agents will be available in "Legacy Agent Registration Requests" report

When you will enable "LAC" on SMP, then on next policy request, 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 legacy agent will be registered and will received SMA settings policy and send basic inventory.

    2. Yes, legacy 7.1 SP2 MP1.1 agent which is registered with SMP 7.5 SP1.x server, will be able to receive task management tasks/client jobs, at least such as: "Control Service State', "Run script", "Get IP Configuration" or "Send basic inventory".

    Thanks,

    IP.
