The above are the errors posted to our SMP Log.  Using NS 7.1  PXE booting to WinPE 2.1 a freshly loaded (Win7 Ent SP1 x64) laptop, to capture something as simple as a back up of the client before I begin messing with sysprep it will not pick up the task.  CMS picks up the resource using the MiniNT hostname.  When I assign the create image (back up) task to it; the task will sit at Start Pending, and never move forward.

I checked to ensure our maintence windows were disabled.  We use none.

There is only one task server managing about 150 laptops.

This only happens on a machine without the agent previously installed though.  If I put the Symantec Agent on the machine prior to PXE booting I can assign the client a task via the machine's hostname.  The NS will pick up the task and execute it no problems.

Any suggestions?  I'd like to grab the back up without the agent if at all possible, and I don't see why it wouldn't work as my WinPE environment has all of the required plugins to do so I believe.

    Hi,

is there anything in the logfiles of the clients? Is the client connected to the server? Please post logs in x:\program files\altiris\altiris agent\logs.
