Hello everybody

We have seen in our computers the patch are re-running when we do and enable a new task that is older that them.

For example, we have the following tasks enabled:

MS09-010
MS09-011
MS09-013
MS09-014

In this scenary, if we download and active the MS09-012 bulletin, we can see in the machines when this task starts, the following patch (MS09-013 and MS09.141) do again, although they are been installed yet.

We don't know if it is the right work or we have a problem with that....

Could anybody help us, please?

In this scenario

Are you rebooting between installs? Are you assigning these tasks to specific collections or do you use collections you have created for patch management?

Thank you for yor

Thank you for yor answer...

Well, we have created a test collection to test all patches. This collection contains about 15 PCs wich have been inserted one by one, and this problem happens in all of the computers, no matter if we reboot or not...

Possible

It could be that the updates failed, look at the run history for the ones that ran first.  Did they fail succeed with a 3010 etc?

It isn't the case...

Thanks but it doesn't happen as you say, although we have only two return codes, and they are always 0 or 3010 .... anyway, with each new update, the others re-run, as the updates with error code=0 as the updates with error code=3010....

Logs

If you can attach the logs to the post I will take a look but a good keyword to follow when looking through the agent.log files is 'State'  There will be a state change everytime it changes what it is doing on the agent.  You will also see an install order as assigned by QChain.

Log errors: 1245, 1168, 80004003

Hello

We have looked into one machine's log files, and we have found a lot of "1245" errors, and some 1168 and 80004003.

That last one is the one wich worries us, because it says "Error Evaluating rule", and it seems it's happening in our machines.

Down you have a few lines of our log files, we are looking for a solution or KB in altiris....

Thank you very much
