    Hi all,

After upgradering SBE Manager 12.1.2 to 12.1.3 and Clients to 12.1.3, some clients network connection is disabled for some reason.

I learned from the Windows System Log, that Intel Network couldnt start and a service called Teefer2 couldnt start up. I searched the internet and this forum for Teefer2, and read alot of threads about it, but most of them are for 11.x version and pretty old.

I got around 50 clients on SBE Manager.

    Any solutions for this ???

    teefer is the fw driver.

go to a client and open a cmd prompt and type "sc query teefer2" See if it is running

    Hello,

On how many clients are you facing this issue?

There is a Teefer3.sys file introduced in Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 RU7 as part of new support for NDIS 6.

In Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 all of the Teefer system files are called simply "Teefer" and the service name is called "Teefer2". This gives the impression that the 12.1 drivers are older than those in version 11 RU7.

    Hope that helps!!

    Hi both of you.

I was facing the problem on 2 clients, but fearing that more can have this issue.

First PC I just reinstalled, didnt gave it a thought that Symantec could block it.

Second PC, I reinstalled Symantec and the network is a live again :)

If I gets another PC with this error I will try your solutions :)

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hi,

Have encountered the Teefer2 problem several times on most endpoints. I resolved this issue by running a cleanwipe and removing all symantec entry up to the registry then uninstall the driver for the network devices in which makes the teefer2 devices disappear. Afterwhich, reinstall the driver for the network devices  then also reinstall the symantec enpoint protection that you are using. This method has been done to SEP 12 RU2..I guess it might be same when encountered in RU3

    Hope this help..Good Day
