    Posted May 10, 2012 09:55 AM

I have 2 network users both running Windows 7 on Dell E5520 laptops. Both have recently began to crash (BSOD) returning errors regarding Teefer2.sys. I have searched all over and so far no definite solution appears to exist. My SEP version is 12.0.1001.95, which one forum post stated would not produce the errors associated with Teefer2. That information is not accurate. I have not had any Windows 7 desktop users experience BSOD or Teefer2 errors.

Here is the data from BlueScreenView

    Hello,

You are running the older version of SEP 12.0 SBE. I recommend you upgrade to the latest SEP 12.1 SBE version.

Thanks for the reply Thomas. I was browsing around and found the following information.

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH160736

It mentioned Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager for disaster backup /recovery. However, I do not have anything remotely close to the path stated for the backup (Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\data\backup).

This link http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH174545 provides a quick overview of what to do before upgrading, however; it mentioned upgrading as noted below.

    Migration paths
Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1000.157 (RU1) can migrate seamlessly over the following:

    Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.671.4971 (RTM)

    1. Do I need to completely uninstall my current version (12.0.1001.95) before the upgrade?

I am unable to locate a valid download link for the 12.1 version. I logged into Symantec file connect with a valid serial number, but there is no 12.1 version available.

    Thanks for the assistance.
