Testing BMR

Hello All,
I am testing BMR restore for a linux client. My Master server is Linux as well Redhat ES 4. I have already performed a full backup using ALL_LOCAL_DRIVE. I have created the SRT and created a Bootable CD image from it.
I go ahead and prepare for restore and then boot the client using the BMR CD. It gets to a point when a restore (BMR) task starts on the master and the client name ,ip,gateway, master server IP etc is mentioned on the client's BMR prompt. Everytime it is failing with error
Failed to retrieve "/tmp/bp.conf" .

I am clueless what to do. I have already rerun the backup and recreated SRT and CD image but has not helped.
When the client falls back to the sheel prompt and asks me to reboot, I can see that both systems (master and client) can ping each other.

I am all confused at this point.Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Skarve,

What version of NetBackup are you running? Also, did you do a prepare for restore on the NetBackup BMR GUI?

Lipz

Hi,

Do you have DNS running?

Otherwise, potentially a bug (good possibility in Linux BMR even in 6.5).

Would you be able to run detailed logs off  bpcd, bptm, bpbrm etc? May shed more light at which part of the process is broken.
