No it doesn't..when SEPM
No it doesn't..when SEPM publishes its definitions it goes to all the groups..
however there are many things you can restrict within groups..like policies,Packages locations etc.
VMWARE-- SEP 12.1 vs McAfee vs Trend Micro
Yes you can great Firewall
Yes you can create Firewall rules apply them to groups, and they can act like an ACL as needed. It's not a replacement to a networking VLAN to stop broadcast traffic, but in a pinch can provide at least a great ACL for groups and servers
Thi was done in one of my customers where they didnt have a network guy to do complexing vlans and routing, thus they created FW rules for accounting and rules for all else to block access to the financial servers from non-accounting folks. and a few other specific rules for HR too.
There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."
No VLAN concept in Endpoint.
In Cisco or in the networking world one can use VLAN's to segregate nodes and one could apply ACL's on VLAN's
Similarly in Endpoint one can create groups in SEPM and apply policies on groups.
