This issue has been solved. See solution.
We have our backup one one drive X. We want to move it to another drive Y. Is there any problem with this if we also rename Y to X?

Might be with the location of
Might be with the location of the B2D folder under Devices. You can verify this by going into BEWS --> Devices, and then right-click Backup-to-Disk Folders, and choosing edit.
You can then change the location there.
I'd inventory that new location just to be sure.
Hope this helps!

After the switch the path
After the switch the path will be the same but the physical disk will be different.
hi
You can just create a new backup to disk folder on the new drive , copy all the data to the new backup to disk folder and run inventory on the new backup to disk folder after copying the files ...
Once done you can just change the device location in the properties of the Job ...
I belive you cannot edit the location for the b2d once a backup to disk folder is created in backup exec
