Is there a maximum size for VRAs inside Virtual Package?

Hi,

I've build two application layers with SWV 6.1 and exported them to VSA. Both layers work when imported into SWV on another machine. I opened them with Wise Installation Studio 7 SP1 (Build  7.3.0.250) and had it convert the VSA to VRA. Then I created a setup that contains the virtualization agent.

The application layers contain a number of apps and are relatively large. The first one is about 180 MB as a VRA, the second one about 390 MB. The installer built from the first package seems to work. The installer built from the second package does not run. It fails with a dialog box saying

title: "Installation Aborted"
text: "Internal Error"

Is there a maximum size for those installers? Any tips on how I might get more information about what's going wrong?

Try the SWV forum

You will get a more definitive answer to any SWV size issues in the SWV forum.
If you are using SWV 6.1 SP1, then I believe there have been some fundamental changes in the layer architecture which are no longer supported by Wise Installation Studio 7.

Is this an SWV issue? Both

Is this an SWV issue? Both layers work inside SWV. Only when I create an installer with WIS7 the large layer doesn't work. Or rather, the whole installer doesn't work. Anyway, I'll ask in the other forum.

This may indeed be a WIS

This may indeed be a WIS issue, but I don't think the WIS guys are being kept in the loop as far as changes to the SWV format are concerned, so I suggested the SWV forum as they are more up to date with recent developments and changes.
