Is there a maximum size for VRAs inside Virtual Package?
I've built two application layers with SWV 6.1 and exported them to VSA. Both layers work when imported into SWV on another machine. I opened them with Wise Installation Studio 7 SP1 (Build 7.3.0.250) and had it convert the VSA to VRA. Then I created a setup that contains the virtualization agent.
The application layers contain a number of apps and are relatively large. The first one is about 180 MB as a VRA, the second one about 390 MB. The installer built from the first package seems to work. The installer built from the second package does not run. It fails with a dialog box saying
title: "Installation Aborted"
text: "Internal Error"
Is there a maximum size for those installers? Any tips on how I might get more information about what's going wrong?

VRAs and VSAs are the same
VRAs and VSAs are the same thing, only difference is a registry value.
There should be no size limit for a VSA made with SWV 6.1 (there is one for SVS which is all that wise supports, but it's around 2 gigs in size i believe), I've personally tested up to 6 gigs in size and have heard of people using layers over 10 gigs in size.
Try making your layer in SVSadmin and seeing if there's a problem.

I'm starting to get confused
I'm starting to get confused about the names. :) When you say SVSadmin, do you mean the admin GUI that is an optional install in SWV 6.1? Or do you mean an older version of the software, presumably the last release before Altiris got bought by Symantec? I've used the admin GUI in SWV 6.1 to build the layers. As long as I stick to SWV 6.1 everything seems to work. But when I try to create an installer with WIS 7, I get weird errors.
sorry I tend to use SVSadmin
sorry I tend to use SVSadmin for all admin tools though technically it's SWVadmin for 6.1 and SVSadmin for 2.X. The confusing this is SVScmd which did not change to SWVcmd for 6.1 (because we didn't want to break scripts).
If you've got 6.1 installed Wise 7 should still make a large VSA, if it doesn't that's a bug you should bring up on their forums.

Large size packages
I have a package that is 19.2 GB in size and it still works.
Wise has a limit of 2.4 GB.
There should be no problem.
I suspect that you have a problem that a file is not imported correct. This is something that happens very rare when there are dat files in the package.
rename the package to zip instead of vsa, and do a search for dat files.
Cut and paste that to a temporary location and try it again.
