Which is the version you are

Which is the version you are using?
Only RU5(11.0.5) is recommendable in windows 2008.

Disable UAC and windows defender
Install liveupdate.
Install SEP.

If not helps paste/attach the sep_inst.log which is present in %temp%

Please don't forget to mark your thread solved with whatever answer helped you : ) Thanks & Regards Aravind

Should be no problem

Hi,

As AravindKM said, you must have RU5 (11.0.5002.333)
Create a singel exe install file with only antivirus and antispywre component on your SEPM, copy it to your 2008 server. Run the exe file as Administrator. That shoul be it.

Windows 2008 installation of sep

Reminder:

1.Ensure that the ff. are disabled:
·  Disable Windows Firewall
·  Disable Windows Defender

2.Verify that your account has elevated user rights.

3.Make sure that you created a package that is RU5 and it is not a single.exe

4.Install it locally:
- Install liveupdate first (lusetup.exe)
-reboot the server
-Install symantec av.msi
-reboot the server again
