  • 1.  Is there a Symantec DLP endpoint Agent for Mac OSX?

    Currently Runing 12.0 of Symantec DLP.

    I see that 12.5 has added support for windows 8, and that there is now endpoint discovery for Mac OSX, but no mention of an Agent that is able to be installed on Mac OSC.

    I saw that link and i've read some of the 12.5 documentation, but i'm confused on the functionality of the endpoint agent on a Mac OSX.

    "IMPROVED! DLP Endpoint Agent discovers data stored on Mac OS X; discovers, monitors and prevents events on Microsoft Windows 8.1 Desktop;"  - This hints that you can only do Data at Rest (DAR) scanning on a Mac OSX and does not have Monitor or prevent capabilities.

    For DLP 12.5 there is only an Endpoint Discover side of things, nothing for prevent.  So you can do the normal Endpoint Discover stuff on Windows or Mac but nothing like prevent Removable Media or any of the same things you would like to do on Windows
