We are currently looking at implementing ClamAV to scan attachments that are attached to a website that we have developed, but  I wanted to know if there is a Symantec Endpoint product which provides the same functionality?  We have a license for Endpoint Protection and it looked like neither the Linux version nor the Windows version provided this functionality.

    Hi,

Symantec Endpoint Protection is an antivirus client for Workstations and Servers. Its main job is to scan for threats in the Files .

So the features provided by SEP will not be suitable for your requirement.

I do believe you want Symantec Scan Engine.
Or there is another Symantec AV for Sharepoint if that is the type of web server you are using.

    cheers

What you need is Symantec Scan Engine.

You run it on a server, and integrate your applications with it (using ICAP protocol). There are SDKs for .NET and J2EE.
