  • 1.  Is there a way to delete duplicate computer records from SEPM

    Posted Mar 17, 2015 02:38 AM

    Hi All,

I'm using below option to delete 30days old inactive clients.
Configure SEPM to remove clients which have not connected within a specific number of days

When calculating 24hrs compliance, I am exporting the data to excel sheet and removing duplicate entries. which is consuming more time.

So, is there any script to search computers by name and delete entries whos "Last Time Status Chnaged" is old in the SEPM.

    Thanks and Regards
    Vamsi

no, there is no script,You can change 30days to 1 days.

Duplicate SEP clients appear in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager console

    Hi James,

    Thank you for immediate reply.

As we are using this option for 30days compliance, we cannot change it now.

If you can't change you need to remove manually.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

Could you please confirm whether you want to delete inactive clients or duplicate clients?

There is not any script to delete inactive clients, either delete them manually or SEPM will delete as per the settings.

To delete duplicate clients there is a script, refer these articles:

    Hi Chethan,

    Thanks for the reply.

My concern is to delete duplicate entries but not inactive machines.
Repairing duplicate ID will resolve the issue of computers with different names and same HW ID. But I have to delete computers with same name and with different HW IDs.

You will have to delete them manually. Does it resove your problem? How the Domain Controller allowed to have duplicate names in the network?

The only way is to remove manually in this case.
