Is there a way to read the content for a Windows file to configure a check into CCS

I would like to read the content of a Windows file in order to check some strings or values inside.

For unix/linux exist a predefined field:

Category:Files

Field: File contents

Is there any similar field for Windows configuration?

thanks

I do not believe this is supported

I do not believe this is supported. There is a query soruce for files in the RMS console but it cannot open the file and return the contents

Score another + for Unix

Windows File Content Search - PCU 2011-2

Windows File Content Search was added in PCU 2011-2(June).  It is (generally) functionally equivalent to the UNIX field “file content”.  The intent is different with the expectation that you would put a specific pattern in the query string and it would return only the line(s) matching that pattern, but if you use pattern=* then it will function exactly like the UNIX file content field.

    SetupECS
5. CCS_ReportingAndAnalytics_10_5_PCU_2011-2_Win.exe

Hi,

We are presently running ccs 10.0.
And I like to be able to use the Windows File Content Search - PCU 2011-2.

Must we update CCS completly to 10.5 for this new option?

Yes it is available in 10.0

Hi,

As you said, you have already installed PCU-2011-2 in your CCS 10.0 environment then you should able to see avail this feature in existing CCS 10.0, please refer to page number 14.

You dont have to update to CCS 10.5 only to avail this particular feature.

Yeah, I can see the "Text File Name" field in RMS Console but what if I need to set a check, where can I find this property.?

It seems not being available to build a check in order to evaluate an asset
