ThreatCon Widget Won't Work?

Created: 24 Apr 2012 | 4 comments

So I am really baffled here and was hoping that someone could help me out. I have a client that has a website that I had put the ThreatCon Widget on and it worked fine, but now the widget will not show up at all. Just an empty space. I copied the widget code again to make sure it didn't get changed but still will not work. The website url is and at the bottom of the page in the middle column is where the widget is placed. Titled "Headline News and Alerts" Could someone please help?

Thank you

If I look at the website's HTML source code for the widget, I see:

<!-- BEGIN SYMANTEC THREATCON WIDGET -->
<script language="javascript" src=";lg=en&amp;ct=us&amp;sg=business" type="text/javascript"></script>

On the Symantec ThreatCon widget website, it looks a bit different:

<!-- BEGIN SYMANTEC THREATCON WIDGET -->
<script language="javascript" src="" type="text/javascript"></script>

Seems the "&" signs were inadvertently converted to HTML tokens (&amp;).

I noticed that and changed it to not have the &amp and it still doesn't show up? Any other suggestions?

I'm unable to run the widget on our internal servers.  When I access the symantec page, it runs fine in both IE6 and IE8.  Is it possibly a cross-site scripting issue?  Have been tweaking browser settings and have also replaced the code with what is currently available on the site, but no luck and the code hasn't changed anyway.  Any idea on browser settings that may need to change?

I have not been able to get this to work. I don't know if it is something wrong with the code but I would like to see it working  again.
