This issue has been solved. See solution.

I am working on a Software Request workflow and I am trying to get the client computer to "update config"  so that it will see that it has software to install.  I have tried to utilize tasks to do this but the best I can do is restart the computer the "Update Client Configuration" task never shows up in Workflow or even "restart Altiris agent".

Has anyone figured out how do do this in Workflow 7?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Figured it out

The ASDK 2.0 that workflow uses turns out to be picky with the type of task you create on the Notification Server.  I was creating a "Update Client Configuration" Task and it wasn't picking it up when I pulled the tasks from Workflow.  The solution was to select Client Task when creating the task on Notification server then Workflow can see it.

In case someone didn't know how to retrieve the tasks from Workflow:

In Designer:
Create Integration Library
Give it a random name (It doesn't retain the name)
Scroll down to the Symantec Workflow for NS 7.0 section
Select ASDK Tasks Component Generator for NS 7.0
Say Yes to the Singleton Generator question
Select NS Creds -> Continue
Takes a min to retrieve the tasks from the NS
Select all or just the task you created
Recompile and close

Hope this helps someone.

One thing to add on this: I

One thing to add on this: I know the Task generator was fixed in the August timeframe of last year to build tasks around all task types. Unsure if this would have made 7.0 /7.0 SP1/7.0 SP2... but it should def. be in for 7.1.
