Q.1: How clients know they have out of date definitions?

Q.2: Which date they use to compare: System date or SEPM date?

Q.3: Home> preferences  shows 10 days and Policies > AVS > Micellanious > Notification shows 14 days. Which one Client will use to identify that the Virus Definitions are out of date?

They check with the SEPM and compare the revision date

They compare with what's in SEPM

The Home >> Preferences is only the percentage (10%) not days

Q.1: How clients know they have out of date definitions?

its System time of SEPM server + the definition on SEPM.

Home tab is only 24 hours preference. this is shown at the SEPM console. Notification is 14 days  this is shown as a warning at the client side.
