Endpoint Protection

Hi,

We install a few weeks ago SEP11 MR4 on some Windows 2000 server SP4, and after 1 or 2 days, we have a lot of message like this in the system events log:

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the Symantec AntiVirus service.
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the Symantec AntiVirus service.
....
every 10 minutes !

And SEP11 stop communication with his parent server, definitions are not up-to-date...and firewall disapears in the main windows...

I need to stop (with difficulties) symantec services, and restart them for everything to be alright...But i will not make it every days...

Is there a solution ? Someone who already have this problem ?

Did u try to replace the sylink. U can update policy as well

It does not seem related to a wrong sylink.xml file. Anyway we need more details.

As per my knowledge Sylink.xml is the communication file. Isn't it????

Yes, it is but in this discussion it seems that if Ouhlala restarts the services, anything works fine. If the sylink.xml is wrong, it cannot work just by restarting the services.

And few servers, those errors repeats very very frequently and after few days, servers is completly offline (no network access).....I saw this ticket, and install SEP11 in this way, but nothing change :
