TLDCD process on AIX 6.1 media server keeps piling up

We have observing raise in numbet of tldcd process on our media server normally during tape rotaion, or some times not even when tape rotaion is happening. Number of tldc processes raises up to 100 sometims. I wanted to know if this is normal or is there any permanent fix for it!

Master server etails:

OS:  AIX 6.1

OS Patch:  6100-05-07-1140

32- or 64-bit:  64

NBU version: 7.1

NBU Patch:

Media Server runs on same level as master.

i have never seen such number of tldcd running. Have you already tried to stop netbackup and kill remaingin tldcd processes? 

Dtermine the raised time of each tldcd by ps command, and check syslog(and Media Manager debug logs if exist) if any relevant error was logged at that time.

Seems a bit high ...

Hate to ask, have you tried a restart ?  (edit to add, I mean a power cycle of the library).

When did this issue start, have you had the problem before.

When the issue happens, what do you have to do to fix it

How often before the problem returns ?

I had a quick look in the DB, seems this issue can be caused by SAN issues / Library issues.

Think you might need to log a call with Symantec to investigat ethis, we would need to know what each process is doing when it hangs.
